VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Volunteers are an extremely important part of the library team.

Tasks performed by volunteers include:

  • Preparing all the books and audio-visuals for check out.
  • Cleaning and mending books when they get damaged.
  • Re-shelving books.
  • Computer tasks, mostly related to the library catalog
  • Searching shelves for missing books and for those requested
    by patrons in other libraries.
  • Putting bar codes on library cards.
  • Making copies.
  • Folding brochures.
  • Cutting publicity articles from the local papers.

We welcome volunteers who can come in weekly but also can work with those whose schedules are erratic. There are some seasonal programs, monthly needs, and other special projects that can use volunteers.

Hours Available:

  • Monday, 10am to 1:30pm
  • Tuesday and Wednesday, 10am to 4pm
  • Thurs. 10am to 1:30pm

Contact: Deirdre Reynolds (dreynolds@driftwoodlib.org), Volunteer Coordinator at 996-1260 for details.
